Short Description

The Bioinformatics & Scientific Computing (BioComp) facility provides unique expertise and services in the areas of bioinformatics and scientific computing to academic and industrial researchers. We offer data analysis services for next-generation sequencing data and develop innovative and intuitive software solutions for biological experiments requiring image and video processing as well as hardware-related programming. Our specific data management and processing tools help researchers to translate biological results into new insights. BioComp also offers trainings and consultations in the areas of bioinformatics, statistics and programming.

Research Services

1. Bioinformatics services:
- Developing and applying advanced data mining tools and providing data analysis services for high-throughput data with special focus on next-generation sequencing applications

2. Scientific Computing services:
- Providing innovative software solutions for biological experiments including, but not limited to, image and video processing and hardware-related programming
- Implementing data management and processing tools for biological research groups to translate their results into new insights

3. Trainings:
- Organizing and providing short trainings and longer courses for biologist, bioinformaticians and computer scientists

4. Consultation:
- Walk-in help desk and consultation in the areas of bioionformatics, statistics and programming
