Short Description

Hamilton STAR are liquid handling robots, suitable for a wide range of applications.
The STAR line workstations are based on superior air displacement pipetting technology. Increased accuracy and repeatability while providing chain of custody with pipette condition monitoring and recording. Each workstation can be configured with multiple arms and each arm can be configured with multiple pipetting and labware gripping devices. Pipetting channels and labware grippers move independently of each other, supporting the use of a wide range of labware.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The Large-Scale Screening (LSS) Robot is a Hamilton STAR liquid handling robot equipped for a variety of automated protocols, such as colony picking, screening of small molecule libraries, or any liquid handling procedure. The VBCF NGS unit has set up automated sequencing library preparation on the STAR robot.
