Short Description
Das Institut betreibt zwei fixed-base Flugsimulatoren für ein Verkehrsflugzeug und ein Leichtflugzeug. Beide Simulatoren sind mit einem Weitwinkel-Sichtsystem ausgestattet. Die Projektionsfläche hat einen Durchmesser von 7 Metern und ermöglicht einen Blickwinkel von 150 bzw. 190 Grad horizontal und 40 Grad vertikal.
Die Avionik des Verkehrsflugzeugsimulators besteht entsprechend dem Stand der Technik aus Replicas des Collins ProLine 21 (2 PFD, 2 MFD), Universal FMS UNS1-LW bzw. Collins 3000, Honeywell MK VII Ground Proximity Warning System, und TCAS II. Der Leichtflugzeugsimulator ist ebenfalls mit einem generischen EFIS ausgestattet. Beide Simulatoren verfügen über Autopilot und Flight Director.
Die Simulatoren können miteinander und auch mit externen Simulatoren über Internet vernetzt werden, was die Simulation komplexer Verkehrsszenarien inklusiver Funkkommunikation ermöglicht.
