investigation of combined impact/abrasion wear phenomena between room temperature and 700°C; the sample surface is subjected to an impacting plunger with variable geometry in a heated test chamber; preheated abrasive particles can be fed to the impact zone to cause 3-body wear under combined impact/abrasion regime; investigation of critical temperatures of wear and impact resistant materials for assessment of wear resistance under application related conditions
