Short Description

The smartfactory@tugraz is a close to reality built site for manufacturing piece goods and is established on an 3000 sq ft area. It consists of all the steps of value adding from Engineering till Final Assembly in order to show the networking of single machinery, the networking of IT and OT and the advantages of a digitalized manufacturing concept on the whole. There is a demonstration of a IT-supported batch size 1 production and most up to date data management. Agility and Data Security are important focus topics, which find research and lectures in this environment. The smartfactory@tugraz wants to be understood as a center for knowledge transfer and testing environment for all interested companies, especially SMEs.

The smartfactory@tugraz refers to the general expertise of Graz University of Technology (Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Information Technology, Image Computing, SW-Programming, Data Analytics) and the one coming from the industrial partners ((HW, SW, Application Know How, Telecomunication-Infrastructure). Together with the infrastructure of the Learningfactory smartfactory@tugraz it is possible to do close-to-reality research in the fields of "Digitalization in Manufacturing".
