TU Wien DMP Tool (https://damap.org/#page-top or https://dmptool.tuwien.ac.at/) supports TU Wien researchers in managing data and code along the research data lifecycle and helps them meet funders’ requirements for DMPs. The tool guides users through all sections of a DMP by asking questions, suggesting answers, and providing helpful information. Content available in other TU Wien systems is automatically transferred to the tool.
As a result, TU Wien DMP Tool delivers a DMP as a document that can be customised and used for submission to European and national research funders. Furthermore, the tool meets the RDA’s recommendation for machine-actionable DMPs and offers a JSON export of the DMP.
The TU Wien Center for Research Data Management (https://www.tuwien.at/en/researchdata) develops and operates TU Wien DMP Tool together with TU Wien’s Campus Software Development department. The tool is part of a university-wide data infrastructure programme under the TU Wien Policy for Research Data Management.
Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure
TU Wien DMP Tool is based on the open-source software DAMAP. No particular expertise is required to use the tool apart from knowledge about the specific research project and the datasets that will be produced or reused within it. Project partners at TU Wien can easily be added as additional editors for collaboration.
