Short Description
Janis transport system consists of a He4 cooled cryostat and a 7 Tesla superconducting magnet which can allow magneto-electrical measurements down to 4.2 K and even lower (1.5 K via pumping through the needle valve). The sample holder allows the rotation of the sample with respect to the direction of applied magnetic field and is fitted with 16 triax connections for high-sensitivity electrical signals read-out. The temperature in the sample area can be read-out via 2 callibrated Cernox sesors and controlled with a commercial Lakeshore temperature controller.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure
Electrical and magnetic transport measurements. In the frame of this type of measurements we can access fundamental properties of semiconductors, metals, and insulators, e.g. carrier mobility and density. In order to determine the aforementioned parameters we employ so-called Hall measurements for van der Pauw and Hall bars geometries. Additionally one can perform angle-dependent magnetic measurements.
Costs and condition can vary with type of material, number of probes and complexity of measurements.
