Xevo TQ-XS: The requirements of a tandem quadrupole – mass spectrometer in the field of forensic toxicology are high robustness compared to matrix loads due to the study of various bodily fluids, as well as low Detection limits of possible drugs, toxins or other non-body-foreign substances. In particular, sensitivity is needed in the context of ' targeted analysis ' to certain drugs, pharmaceuticals, narcotics and antidepressants, among others.
The Xevo TQ – XS – LC-MS/MS system meets these challenges in addition to the classic functions of a tandem quadrupole with respect to various different scanning – modes:

-Neutral Loss Scan (NL Scan)

with a number of other technical innovations such as:
• StepWave XS™ ion transfer optics that provides increased sensitivity to demanding organic compounds.
• A detection system with a linear range above 6 sizes to ensure that the required sensitivity and quantification is achieved over a wide range of concentrations.
• A new user-friendly ion source that shortens the duration of maintenance and also provides stable reproducibility.

Reproducible quantification with maximum sensitivity
The Xevo TQ – XS LC-MS/MS system is capable of analyzing both small and large molecules, individual analytes or multiple connecting groups of organic molecules up to 2000 Da. By the use of different sources of ionization, a wide range of analytical dindaries can be covered. Through other different technical innovations, such as the StepWave XS ion transfer optics, the system delivers maximum sensitivity advantages that can be reproduced even with multiple injections and make a reliable quantification even at the lowest level possible. The StepWave XS ensures that neutral connections and gas loads are passively removed to achieve better ion transfer. In the process, the ions are actively transferred to the mass analyzer, which improves sensitivity and robustness.
Xtended Dynamic Range Detector
The Xtended Dynamic Range (XDR™) detector now allows for a linear calibration range over 6 orders of magnitude. Thus, a larger concentration area can be covered without reaching the detector saturation to avoid time-consuming re-– injections as part of further dilutions of the sample.
Source optimization and maintenance without additional tools
No tools are required to replace the ion source. This leads to improved reproducibility over long periods of time.
"IntelliStart" provides a calibration – and tuning routine, which can be used at the beginning or within the sequence as required, provides a regular review of the system.
The software is rounded off by the integrated QUANPEDIA – method database for the creation and import of analytical methods
