Short Description
A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system from Agilent in combination with PAL RTC sampler and the triple quadrupole mass spectrometer from AB Sciex (QTrap 6500+) with high detection sensitivity and selectivity is used for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of micropollutants.

Analysis of organic trace compounds (contaminants of emerging concern) in water and wastewater samples
Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure
A system with direct injection or fully automated solid phase extraction (SPE) combined with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS / MS) is used to analyse various environmentally relevant substances. In addition to the triple quadrupole, the mass spectrometer has an integrated QTRAP functionality, which makes it possible to perform quantitative MRMs as well as qualitative QTRAP scans in the same injection. Electrospray (ESI) ionisation is used for the ionisation of substances in the mass spectrometer and a high-energy detector is used for detection.
