Short Description
The single crystal diffractometer is a STOE-STADI VARI goniometer system with an open Eulerian cradle with angular ranges in 2Theta = 240°, omega = 205°, chi = 90° and phi = 360°. The instrument provides a position accuracy < 0.001° and a radius of the “Sphere of Confusion” less than 5 microns, which is especially useful working with small beam sizes. The open Eularian cradle supports loads of up to 2 kg on the phi axis. Therefore, heavy load sample environments can be adapted on the instrument.
The instrument is equipped with a Mo and Cu Micro-focus X-ray source (focus size: ~70µm (Mo), ~190µm (Cu)) together with a high-grade X-ray multi-layer optics for monochromatization. The switching between the two sources is software supported. The Eiger CdTe (1M) detctor allows also measurements of very weak scatterer.
Sample environment: Oxford Cryostream (T: 100K - 400 K); Heatstream (T: 300K - 1000K)
