Das Gerät ist das einzige dieser Art an der gesamten Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät und wird von allen immunologisch forschenden Arbeitsgruppen verwendet. Flowzytometrie ist eine Grundvoraussetzung für state-of-the-art Immunologie und für die meisten zellulär-immunologischen Arbeiten, z.B. in der Tumor- oder Allergieforschung. Das Gerät wurde in einem großen Teil der publizierten Arbeiten der CF Durchflusszytometrie verwendet.
