Short Description

The Core Facility Flow Cytometry comprises the instrumentation for the investigation of immunological mechanisms at molecular and cellular level using the flow cytometers FACSCanto II and Northern Lights 1000, a cell sorter FACSAria III, a multiplex analyzer Magpix for simultaneous measurement of up to 50 analytes and an impedance flow cytometer Ampha Z32.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

Investigations of mechanisms of immune polarization (e.g. allergic immune reactions)
Signal transduction and gene expression in the immune system, the role of antigen-presenting cells in the skin, and the formation and recruitment of regulatory T cells
Development of vaccines based on recombinant proteins as well as DNA and RNA vaccines
Investigation of the immunotoxicity of nanomaterials.

The method park includes the common techniques of cellular and molecular immunology. Special expertise is available for complex mouse models with regard to allergic sensitization and allergic effector reactions as well as for immune reactions / immune regulation via the skin.
