Short Description
GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) signal generator for the simulation of multi-frequency GPS and Galileo signals. The generated data and signals can support postprocessing (RINEX format) as well as real-time GNSS applications (RF signals). The signal simulator covers a computer processing unit as well as an unit for broadcasting RF signals (to be connected to GNSS antennas). The processing unit allows to choose between several atmospheric delay models (tropospheric delay, ionospheric delay) as well as several signal noise models. Satellite orbit information can be based on broadcast ephemeris. On the other hand an experienced orbit integrator allows to establish satellite orbits with cm-accuracy. The device will be made available to all interested users via Internet connection.
The simulator shall support all kinds of research projects in the application fields of GNSS-positioning and GNSS-software development. In addition the capabilities of state-of-the-art multi GNSS receiver hardware can be tested.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure
Generation of synthetic GNSS-signals to test new multi-frequency GNSS soft- and hardware. The generated signals can be overlaid with exactly specified signal-delay models as well as signal noise. Therefore these signals are well suited for the development of state-of-the-art GNSS software (e.g. for mass market positioning applications) as well for research projects aiming at highest demands.
