Short Description

The Isomed 2000 is an isokinetic diagnostic and training device. The torque motor has a torque of 750Nm and is freely rotatable (360 °). Angular speeds of up to 300 ° / sec can be realized. The system can therefore be used for very fast and explosive movements. In addition to the base module including various adapters for joint measurements (knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, hip, wrist), modules for trunk flexion / extension, trunk rotation and a leg press ( leg extension) are available.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

With this system, both isometric and dynamic (isokinetic) force measurements are performed. Modules for trunk rotation and trunk flexion expand the system. The LegPress module tests the strength of the legs in the closed chain. By means of setting the ROM (range of motion) and the angular velocity, sports-specific diagnostics can be carried out. The system is used in the performance diagnosis of various sports (football, tennis, wrestling, track&field, alpine skiing, handball, etc.). In addition to force diagnostics and training studies, mechanical and material properties of muscles and tendons are carried out together with other systems (e.g. EMG, ultrasound).
